This fiction podcast sets the bar for what is possible in audio storytelling in the way of production quality, transition creativeness, acting, direction, and story. Our first venture into fiction. Half the group didn’t like it, half the group did. It was an interesting mystery to solve that we were guessing along the way. There is a season 2 for this one which we will likely work into the rotation. Half of us felt we wouldn’t recommend this to someone. All of us agree if you listen to podcasts in the car with kids, this one definitely has a lot of bad language. The vibe of the podcast left us feeling like it was the exploitation of someone else’s bad fortune. We had high hopes from Serial and This American Life, but this one was a dud.

Up & Vanished

This was our first ever podcast group listen and we felt a great podcast to start on. We discussed everything from the story, the host’s style, the length of each episode, whether or not they would catch the killer, all the way to the advertising we were served and what app we were all using to listen (overcast, apple podcast, stitcher). In the end we decided that we did not like Payne Lindsey’s first attempt at audio story telling. His scattered approach to laying out the case was meandering and confusing. @upandvanished, #JusticeForTara, #podcast #truecrime
